VINEYARD

The vineyards near Carosino (Taranto, Puglia), aging for more than 50 years, are almost 200 meters above sea level and have high average temperatures and low rainfall throughout the year. Located near the Ionian Sea and resting on a limestone platform layered with shells and marine sendiments the soil is mostly sandy. Yield: 60 quintals per hectare.

WINE MAKING PROCESS

The grapes are carefully selected and picked by hand by the first two weeks of September. Winemaking is traditional for red wines: the must remains in contact with the grape skin. Then it is filled into French oak barrels where it finishes fermentation at a controlled temperature for 12 months.
