VINEYARD

The vineyards located between towns of Lizzano and Pulsano (Province Taran- to, Apuila), aging for more than 50 years, nearly 200 meters above sea, with a high average temperature and the whole year less rain. Resting on a platform of calcium deposits and layers of shells and marine sediments. The soil is medium textured with the presence of silica, clay, sand and an abundance of gravel- stones and pebbles. Yield: 80 quintals per hectare.

WINE MAKING PROCESS

The grapes are carefully selected and picked by hands, harvested during the first ten days of September. The wine fabrication is a traditional one for red wines: The must stays in contact with the grape skin. Then it is filled into French oak barrels where it finishes fer- mentation at a controlled temperature for 12 months.
